An award-winning producer/director of television and film, Steven Lipscomb is the Founder, CEO and President of WPT Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: WPTE), the company behind the WORLD POKER TOUR® (WPT), the Professional Poker Tour (PPT) and the World Horseracing Tour (WHT).

Featured on the cover of Inc. Magazine and pictured above the fold on the front page of the Wall Street Journal (as well as numerous other publications), Lipscomb has been recognized as an entrepreneurial force – launching the fastest growing international sports league in television history. A featured speaker at business schools across the country (including Harvard, UT Austin, Tuck and USC), Lipscomb has demonstrated his passion for finding and encouraging future entrepreneurs.

Lipscomb invented the format that transformed poker into a mainstream televised sports phenomenon. He introduced the hole-card camera to U.S. television and created a means of graphically presenting poker to a television audience such that it captures the excitement of the game. The result has been a global explosion of the poker market. WPTE was formed in 2002 and went public in August of 2004. World Poker Tour and Professional Poker Tour television shows have been Broadcast in over 150 countries and territories – with regional tours launching as far away as mainland China. WPT merchandise can be found on five continents – with everything from pinball machines to tee-shirts to one of the most successful downloadable cell phone games in history. In 2006 the WPT brand received LIMA’s distinguished “sports license of the year” award as well as receiving a nomination in two categories in 2008.

World Poker Tour is now in its seventh season, having broadcast hundreds of hours of programming.  In those seasons, more than 400 million dollars in prize money has been given away and more than 100 WPT poker-made-millionaires have been crowned.

Prior to WPTE, Lipscomb worked closely with such luminaries as Norman Lear, Alvin Toffler and Al Burton to create successful films and television shows. His credits include "Turn Ben Stein On," "Beyond Future Shock," and "Battle for the Minds." Lipscomb also had extensive prior experience filming professional poker. In 1999, he produced and directed "On the Inside of The World Series of Poker" for the Discovery channel. He also filmed the "2001 Tournament of Champions of Poker," before going on to create and executive produce "Cruisin' to a Million" for the Travel Channel, a program showcasing a million-dollar poker tournament on a cruise ship in the Mexican Riviera.

Formerly an attorney with Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher, Lipscomb received his B.A. with honors from Dartmouth College, where he was president of his class. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago, where he was a Greenberg Scholar. Lipscomb sold interest in his own attorney referral business to fund his first film.

Lyle Berman, age 64, Chairman of the Board, is a 1964 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Business Administration. Mr. Berman began his career with Berman Buckskin, his family's leather business. Over the next 16 years, he helped grow the business into a major specialty retailer, with 27 outlets.

When Berman's was sold to W.R. Grace in 1979, he continued as President and Chief Executive Officer and led the company to become one of the country's largest retail leather chains, with over 200 stores nationwide.

Mr. Berman led a management buyout of Berman's in 1987, and in 1988, the company was sold to Melville Corporation and combined to form Wilsons The Leather Experts. In the spring of 1996, Mr. Berman participated along with current Wilsons' management, in the purchase of Wilsons from Melville Corporation.

In 1990, Mr. Berman participated in the founding of Grand Casinos, Inc. Mr. Berman is credited as one of the early visionaries in the development of casinos outside of the traditional gaming markets of Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Grand Casinos became a leader in this segment of the casino entertainment industry, known as "emerging gaming", and in less than five years the company opened eight casino resorts in four states. In 1995, Grand Casinos was named the Fastest Growing Company in American by Fortune magazine.

In 1998, Grand Casinos completed transactions when Grand Casinos' Mississippi assets were merged with the gaming division of Hilton Hotels Corporation to form Park Place Entertainment Corporation now known as Harrah’s Entertainment. In 1999, Lakes Entertainment, Inc. was formed as a result of Grand Casino’s Indian Casino Management business not being acquired by Park Place Entertainment.

In 1994, Mr. Berman financed the initial development of Rainforest Café, and integrated restaurant and retail concept. He served as the Chairman and CEO from 1994 until 2000.

As Chairman of the Board and CEO of Lakes Entertainment, Inc., Mr. Berman was instrumental in creating the World Poker Tour, now a public company. The symbol is WPTE. In six short years, World Poker Tour has revolutionized the game of poker through out the world.

In October 1995, Mr. Berman was honored with the B'nai B'rith "Great American Traditions Award", in April, 1996, he received the Gaming Executive of the Year Award, and in 2004 Mr. Berman was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Mr. Berman has been instrumental in the creation, development and leadership of several public companies, including:

Robyn Moder

Robyn Moder

Executive Vice President, WPT Studios

Robyn Moder, a co-founder and Executive Vice President of WPT Studios, oversees Television Production, International Distribution and Home Entertainment.

Ms. Moder served as Supervising Producer for the World Poker Tour’s successful launch season and segued into the role of Executive in Charge of Production, encompassing all areas of production, post production, operations and finance. Prior to joining the WPT, Ms. Moder served in a freelance capacity for several production companies as well as prominent studios including FOX, Paramount and CBS. Her experience consists of both field and studio based production on such successful shows as Rendez-View and American Fighter Pilot. Ms. Moder also served as Coordinator of Production Operations and Finance at 20th Television, a division of Fox Studios. Before landing in media entertainment, Ms. Moder spent six years designing and implemented marketing and visual merchandising programs for a retail chain of high-end resort and sportswear clothing.


 Adam Pliska

General Counsel and Secretary

Adam Pliska joined WPTE in 2003 and currently serves as the Company's General Counsel. Previously, Mr. Pliska served as the Vice-President of Legal and Business Affairs for a multi-media company headed by the futurist, Alvin Toffler and as an attorney at the firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal in Los Angeles. Mr. Pliska also worked as a television producer in connection with noted industry veteran Al Burton including work at Universal Television and Castle Rock Entertainment where he produced and developed numerous television properties. He is an alumnus of USC Film School and UC Berkeley's law school, Boalt Hall. Additionally, he served at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (for the Hon. Alex Kozinski) and at the Governor's Office of Legal Affairs (Ca.).
