Los Angeles (November 15, 2011) – This Friday, World Poker Tour® arrives in North Florida for the debut of WPT Jacksonville. Vince Van Patten, Tony Dunst, and the Royal Flush Girls will announce Shuffle Up and Deal to kick-off this exciting tournament which features re-entry on Day 1B.
Held at the Orange Park Poker Room in Jacksonville, Florida, this $3,500 buy-in tournament is poised to attract a strong turnout of local players, seasoned grinders, and well-known professionals. Many WPT Champions Club members have confirmed their attendance including WPT Season X star Will Failla, fan favorite Dwyte Pilgrim and reigning WPT Player of the Year Andy Frankenberger.
The final table of this non-televised WPT Season X Main Event will be streamed live on Tuesday, November 22. Beginning at 12:00pm ET / 9:00am PT on www.WorldPokerTour.com, WPT Live Streaming hosted by The Raw Deal’s Tony Dunst features hole cards, rich graphics and expert analysis from one of poker’s brightest young stars. WPT Champion Jonathan Little will once again be joining Tony Dunst as a guest commentator during next week’s broadcast, provided he does not final table the tournament himself. Fans in the Orange Park Poker Room will be able to meet and hang out with the Royal Flush Girls all week. At all domestic WPT Main Events, the Royal Flush Girls Social Bar provides a hub for players and fans to enjoy the action and mingle.
Florida has quickly become a hot-bed for high-stakes poker as the World Poker Tour makes three stops in the state during Season X. In April, WPT returns for the second edition of the televised Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Last year’s event attracted 433 runners and a substantial prize pool of $4,156,800. The following week, WPT will revisit Jacksonville, this time for a televised WPT Main Event in the brand new Jacksonville Poker Room, scheduled to open in March, 2012.
