Faraz Jaka is Season VIII Player of the Year
The U.S. leg of Season IX of the World Poker Tour kicked off today just after noon here at the Bellagio Cup VI. The day started with Faraz Jaka accepting his Season VIII Player Of Year Award after making two final tables (four cashes total) in the previous season.
From there the tournament took on a festive feel with the announcement of some exciting changes that will be taking place this season. Poker's favorite commentators, Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, took the mic and revealed that they will be attending every WPT tournament this season from the first hand dealt to the very last to witness the details as they unfold from Day 1 of a tournament. Van Patten also had the honor of announcing another new addition to the WPT traveling team - The Royal Flush Girls.
In addition, WPT Live Updates very own Kimberly Lansing has made her return to the World Poker Tour family. Not only will she be appearing in Live Updates videos, but she will be acting as Mike and Vince's anchor on the television show.
