Day 3 Ends with the Final 28 after a Long Money Bubble this Afternoon

Day 3 at the World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Poker Open has come to a close and 28 players are still in the hunt for the top prize worth $730,053. The money bubble burst today when 100 remained but it was a long process that took over two hours to complete this afternoon. Notables that missed the money today included Jason Koon, Mohsin Charania, Todd Terry, Christian Harder, Alex Bolotin, and David Paredes. The pace of play picked back up after the bubble burst and we finally got down to the final four tables in the tournament before the end of the night.

The overnight chip leader is Yung Hwang with 3,039,000. Other stacks near the top include Jeremy Druckman (2,598,000) and Samuel Taylor (2,390,000). Notables still in the hunt are Taylor Paur (2,080,000), Joe Serock (1,578,000), Jamie Kerstetter (754,000), Chris Reslock (594,000), and Matt Salsberg (567,000).

Among the players that cashed today were Cherish Andrews, Touny Cousineau, Ryan D’Angelo, Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Jonathan Roy, Matt Matros, Jonathan Little, Allen Kessler, Eugene Todd, Marsha Wolak, David Fox, Keven Stammen, Ravi Raghavan, Matthew Burnitz, Daniel Buzgon, Bryn Kenney, Matt Glantz, and Ana Marquez. A min-cash was worth $6,637 and by the end of the night players were taking home $12,942.

Hwang Crosses 3 Million To End The Night

With a raise to 36,000 and a call before him, Nathan Tuthill three-bets to 90,000 on the button. Yung Hwang, in the small blind, four-bets to about 195,000. The table folds quicky to Hwang, who becomes the first player to surpass the 3 million chip mark.

Taylor Paur raises from early position and Mark Ketteringham re-raises all in from the next seat over for about 300,000. Action folds back to Paur who calls with JJ, leading Ketteringham's AT. The board runs out 83337 as Paur's jacks hold up to score the elimination.

With the board showing 863Q on the turn, Derek Chisholm bets 118,000 from the small blind, and Taylor Paur calls from the button. 

The river is the J, and Chisholm moves all in for about 360,000. Paur calls, and Chisholm says, "Nice call." Chisholm shows AK for ace high, and Paur turns over AQ to win the pot with a pair of queens.

Anthony Zinno raises to 40,000 from the hijack and Jeremy Druckman three-bets to 115,000 from the button. Action folds back to Zinno who four-bets to 320,000, only to see Druckman four-bet shove for 850,000 effective. Zinno folds immediately, giving Druckman the pot.

Nicholas Manfredo, crippled on a previous hand, moves all in from the cutoff for 38,000, and Jim Anderson (small blind) and Jeremy Stein (big blind) both call.

Both players check the dry side pot down to the river on a board of J103A7.

Anderson bets 48,000, and Stein calls with A9 for a pair of aces. But Anderson turns over 98 to win the side pot with a jack-high straight.

Manfredo shows 108 for a pair of tens, but it's not enough to save him, and he's eliminated in 32nd place.
