Mike Matusow Doubles Thru Danny Shiff

Level 7: 250-500, 50 ante

With around 5,000 in the pot and the board reading 9spade5spade3spade, Danny Shiff checks from the big blind, a player in middle position checks, and Mike Matusow bets 4,300, leaving 8,450 behind.

Shiff check-raises to 20,100, leaving just 400 chips capping his cards.  The player in middle position apparently has quite a decision on his hands, as he goes deep in the tank.

After a minute or two of deliberation, Shiff asks, "Would it make a difference if I I put the other 400 in?"

The table erupts in laughter, then silences back down again.  Matusow is starting to get impatient and bursts out signing, "On the rail again! I just can't wait to be on the rail again!"

Shiff joins in on the antics, telling the table, "I'm feeling better about my hand.  You got anything, Mike?"

"I don't know," Matusow replies.  "I'll tell you when this guy makes a decision."

The other player in the hand apologizes for taking so much time. The Matusow offers him a piece of advice.  He points to his initial bet and says, "If this much is going in, no way the of it isn't going in too."

After a little more thought, the other player folds.

"I gotta get lucky," Matusow says as he turns over Aspade9diamond for top pair with the nut flush draw.  Shiff shows 3club3heart for bottom set.

The turn brings the 6heart and Matusow says, "That's not lucky."  Then the river brings the 8spade, completing Matusow's flush and he adds, "That's lucky."

Mike Matusow - 25,000
Danny Shiff - 8,800

The two banter back and forth and Ferrera claims he has a ten.  After some more chatter, Ferrera calls and Philachack shows Kspade7spade for a flush.  Ferrera mucks.
