Level 4: 100-200, 25 ante

Regardless of where you live, if you are at least 21 years old and inside the state of New Jersey you can legally play online poker at nj.partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com. Which means all of the players who are here at the Borgata for the WPT Borgata Poker Open can play online when they're not in the tournament.

This is a great time for online poker in New Jersey, because both sites are hosting the Garden State Super Series until September 21. Each "event" is actually three separate tournaments with tiered buy-ins -- low, mid, and high.

The low events feature buy-ins from $5 to $50, the mid events are $10 to $100, and the high events are $50 to $1,000.

This evening's schedule features Event #13, which is limit hold'em.

Level 3 comes to an end, and Level 4 begins with blinds of 100-200 and a 25 ante. Play continues without a break.

There are at least 650 entrants in today’s Day 1B field, creating a total field size of at least 1,050. This is a re-entry tournament, and registration remains open until the end of the dinner break (about 8:15 pm). Players who bust may re-enter as many times as they’d like during the registration period, even if they played yesterday on Day 1A.

There will be a 75-minute dinner break after Level 6, around 7:00 pm, and action will continue tonight until the end of Level 8, around 10:45 pm ET.

Seventh Largest WPT Field in History -- And Climbing

Level 3: 100-200, ante

Tournament Director Tab Duchateau just announced that today's Day 1B field has reached 650 entrants, which creates a two-day total of 1,050. That makes this the seventh-largest field in World Poker Tour history.

Registration remains open until the end of the dinner break (about 8:15 pm), and players who bust may re-enter as many times as they'd like during the registration period.

This is the 10th WPT event in history to draw a field of at least 1,000 entrants, and eight of them have come here at the Borgata Casino.

James Woods Doubles Up

Level 3: 100-200, ante

With five players in the hand, the flop comes Kspade8heart5heart. Academy Award-winning actor James Woods is in the small blind and checks, as does the player under the gun. A player in early position bets 1,700, a player behind him calls, and Mike Sexton fold from the button.

Action gets back to Woods, who check-raises all-in for 7,125 total. The initial bettor folds, but the other player calls, tabling AclubAspade.

Woods shows KheartQheart for top pair and a flush draw.  He hits his flush with the 10heart on the turn, and, with the Jclub on the river, he takes the pot to double up.

The player on the button folds and the player in the small blind calls all in for about 19,000 with JheartJspade for a set of jacks. Lipman tables QdiamondTdiamond for a queen-high straight and holds up through the 4heart turn and Qclub river to score the elimination.

ClubWPT Gregory Thomas 2
There are two players in this field who didn’t pay $3,500, but instead earned their entry into the WPT Borgata Poker Open by playing on ClubWPT.com — Gregory Thomas (pictured above) and Carlos Rosendo.

Thomas is a 34-year-old Electrical Engineer from San Antonio, Texas, and he is married with two young children, a son and a daughter. Thomas has been playing poker since 2005, and a member of ClubWPT.com since 2011.

When asked what he liked about ClubWPT, Thomas said, “It’s an outlet for me to play poker since I live in a non-gambling state where the nearest legal casino is three hours drive. The poker is serious and the competition is real.”

Thomas has won $2,250 in cash on ClubWPT, not counting non-cash prizes (cigars, luggage) or his $3,500 seat (plus travel) to play in this live World Poker Tour event against some of the best players in the world.

If you'd like to earn your entry into a WPT event the way that Gregory Thomas and Carlos Rosendo did, then be sure to sign up for a VIP membership at ClubWPT.com.

Kerstetter check-calls 1,400 from Baumstein to see the 2spade turn and check-calls another 4,500 from him to see the 6diamond river, which both players check.

Baumstein shows AheartKheart, Kerstetter mucks and Baumstein collects the pot.
