The Day 1A Chip Leader is Out

Great Start For Sly

Chris Sly has told us that he was responsible for one of the early eliminations. He was holding pocket fives on a flop of Kx Jx 5x and his opponent had top two. He then won another big pot just a fews hands late and Sly now has 400,000.

Runner-runner quads: Wilhelm Fuhrer Takes The Lot

Level 15: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante

Wilhelm Fuhrer has just eliminated both Brent Norris and Paolo Compagno in a wonderful hand, and he now has the chips to be a real force in this competition.

Fuhrer raises to 7,000 in early position, Norris calls in position as does Compagno in the big blind.

Flop: Aspade Aclub Kspade

All three players check.

Turn: Jspade

Compagno checks to Fuhrer, who bets 12,000 and both players make the call.

River: Jdiamond

Compagno bets 26,000 but Fuhrer moves all-in and has both players covered. Brent Norris makes the quick call as does Compagno.

"Someone must had jacks," says Ferenc Gal.

Norris turns over Ax Qx, Compagno turns over Adiamond 3diamond and Fuhrer slams the Jx Jx onto the deck. Runner-runner quads sends both Compagno and Norris to the rail.
