Matt Giannetti Wins the World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open ($323,804)
Level 29: 40,000-80,000, 10,000 ante
By Ryan Lucchesi
The final table of the World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida was packed full of professional players and great storylines when cards got into the air today at 3 p.m. ET. Matt Salsberg was appearing at back-to-back WPT final tables and he was joined by fellow Champions Club member Matt Giannetti. In addition to the possibility of a repeat WPT champion, long-time professionals Darryll Fish and Danny Shiff were each gunning for their first WPT title. Lily Kiletto was also in the mix, so the first open WPT event woman champion was another storyline in play. Here were the chip counts and seating chart when cards got into the air:
Seat 1: Matt Giannetti - 3,005,000
Seat 2: Lily Kiletto - 860,000
Seat 3: Darryll Fish - 2,660,000
Seat 4: Matt Salsberg - 980,000
Seat 5: Hayden Fortini - 1,620,000
Seat 6: Danny Shiff - 1,930,000
By the end of play at a quick final table that finished just after 7 p.m. it was Giannetti who emerged with his second WPT title. Once again he faced a woman in the heads-up final, and once again he emerged victorious, just as he did at WPT Malta during Season X. Giannetti joins an elite group of players that have won at least two WPT titles, which includes Carlos Mortensen, Gus Hansen, Michael Mizrachi, Daniel Negreanu, and Antonio Esfandiari.
The first elimination tonight came rather quickly on the ninth hand of play at the final table. Darryll Fish raised to 85,000 from the cutoff preflop and Matt Salsberg reraised to 200,000 on the button. Fish tanked for about a minute before he moved all in. Salsberg called all in for 815,000 with J

and Fish turned over 7

. The board came 6

and Fish rivered a seven-high straight to win the pot and eliminate Salsberg in sixth place ($50,968). Salsberg matched his sixth-place finish at the Borgata Winter Poker Open that took place just 11 days ago. He has won $198,639 at the last two WPT events.
The five finalists then settled in for a longer battle and the pace of play at the final table established itself. Danny Shiff doubled up thru Hayden Fortini during this stretch in one of the largest hands of the tournament, which left Fortini crippled with less than five big blinds. On his final hand Lily Kiletto raised from the button to 125,000, Fish called from the small blind, and Fortini called all in from the big blind for 65,000. Kiletto and Fish continued to battle over a dry side pot, and they both checked to the turn on a board reading J
9
4
2
. Fish bet 200,000 to open the action on that betting round and Kiletto folded after initially checking. Fish took back his 200,000, and showed 4

for a set of fours. Fortini turned over J
5
for a pair of jacks, and he was drawing dead. The meaningless river card was the 3
, and Fish won the pot to eliminate Fortini in fifth place ($64,160).
Despite the double up Shiff was up next on the chopping block and he fell on the 67th hand of play. His swan song began when Kiletto raised from the button to 130,000, and Shiff called from the big blind. The flop came 9

and Shiff checked. Kiletto bet 260,000 and Shiff check-raised all in for 1,025,000. Kiletto paused briefly before she called with 3

10
for an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the 6
and the river was the 2
. Kiletto won the pot with two pair, eights and threes, and eliminated Shiff in fourth place ($86,946).
Another long battle took place to decide third place, and it was on the 108th hand at the final table that three became two. Giannetti raised from the button to 170,000, and Fish thought for about a minute before he moved all in from the big blind for 835,000. Giannetti called with Q
J
and he had Fish's Q

dominated. The board came K

J

and Giannetti won the pot with a full house, jacks full of queens, to eliminate Fish in third place ($125,921). After that a short pause was taken to reset the final table for the heads-up final.
Matt Giannetti - 6,830,000 (85 bb)
Lily Kiletto - 4,230,000 (52 bb)
The two only played six hands of heads-poker before it was all over. Kiletto raised to 200,000, Giannetti thought for a while before reraising to 580,000, and Kiletto paused a moment before moving all in for 3,920,000. Giannetti thought for about two minutes before he called with 8

and Kiletto picked up a spade flush draw on the turn, but she improved no further. Giannetti won the pot (and his second WPT title) with two pair, eights and deuces. Kiletto finished as the runner-up, earning $191,880.
Giannetti won the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, earning $323,804, which includes his entry into the season-ending WPT World Championship. Giannetti will also receive a WPT Champions Trophy, and get his name engraved (for a second time) on the one and only WPT Champions Cup.
