Day 2 Recap
Level 5: 150,000-300,000, 30,000 ante
It's been a long day. We started the day with 330 players at 11AM. Now, at 11 PM, we're down to 107. This is just the beginning. Our chip leader is Canada's Erik Cajelais. Cajelais has been on a hot streak since a tenth place finish At Foxwoods last October and is looking for his first World Poker Tour TV table. There are a whole lot of players right behind Erick in the standings. WPT regular Jon Turner is in second, while David Oppenheim, John Phan, John Hennigan and Vanessa Rousso are all on the leader board. One name is ominously absent from the remaining names. Jamie Gold came into the day third in chips and immediately vaulted into a massive lead when he hit four of a kind. Unfortunately for Gold, after a long night of partying, the grind of the long day got to him. He stormed out of the room an hour before play ended. Sunday will see another 11AM start as the remaining players congregate to reach the money bubble and maybe go a little further. 54 is the magic number, so check back tomorrow to see who gets there, who goes home and who is ready for a little Borgata-based glory. See you then.

Rousso slices the Razor - Play ends
Level 5: 150,000-300,000, 30,000 ante
WOW! Just when you think your hand is incredible...
Pre-flop, John Phan raises to T6,000. Vanessa Rousso calls in late position.
The flop comes 3
4
5
.
Phan bets T15,000. Rousso calls.
The turn is the 6
. Phan bets T20,000. Rousso calls.
River is the 2
. Phan checks and Rousso bets T30,000. Phan calls.
Phan turns over A
2
for a 6 high straight.
Rousso turns over K
7
for a 7 high straight.
After flopping a straight, Phan's hand's potential improved when he picked up the nut flush draw on the turn. Unfortunately, the 6
gave Rousso the 7 high straight. Missing with a spade on the river, Phan was forced to play the board after his flopped straight became counterfeited.
Phan and Rousso have been going at each other all day. It feels like a ping-pong match.
Play has ended for today. Players are bagging their chips. Stay tuned for chip counts and recaps. Play will resume Sunday at 11am EST.

A New Leader
Level 5: 150,000-300,000, 30,000 ante
Erik Cajelais has been on a real hot streak of late. In the last three months, he's finished 17th in the United States Poker Championship, 10th at the WPT's North American Poker Championship, 22nd in the World Poker Finals, 1st in a $5,000 buy-in event at the Five Diamond Classic, then 58th in the main event there. Now, as we enter the final minutes of day two, Erick has taken a small lead here with T425,000. A strong day tomorrow could lead to the breakthrough performance he's been inching towards on the WPT.

Level 5: 150,000-300,000, 30,000 ante
Well guys, thanks to a techical malfunction (with my brain), it seems a lot of the writing I've been doing today has posted in the wrong tournament forum. I've transferred everything over here now, so if you want a more complete picture of what's been going on, click on the Wise Thoughts link that you can otherwise find by cutting and pasting this URL: http://www.worldpokertour.com/tournament/?x=updatesnews&postUserName=Wise+Thoughts You'll see I've been doing a lot more than it may have looked like. Sorry for the screw up folks.

Rousso Can't Bluff The Razor
Level 5: 150,000-300,000, 30,000 ante
On a board of A
Q
6
J
John Phan checks and Vanessa Rousso bets out T13,000. Phan Calls.
The river is a 5
. Phan checks again and Rousso fires out T30,000. John Phan thinks for a long time getting out calling chips, then raising chips, then calling chips again. He finally makes the great call - Vanessa shows six-deuce for a big bluff, while The Razor takes it down with Queen-Ten.
