The remaining field from today has tomorrow off, and they will return for Day 2 action on Sunday, February 10. They will be joined by the survivors from tomorrow’s Day 1B field, which is expected to be a big one. The size of this year’s Lucky Hearts event will surely top 300 players.

Check back in on Saturday at noon ET for 10 more levels of poker action and a rush of new faces in South Florida, as players will be allowed to enter and re-enter through the end of Level 4 tomorrow. The WPT Live Updates team will be here to bring you all of the action.

Giannetti: "This could be the weirdest hand I've ever played."

Level 9: 400-800, 100 ante

After two players limped for 800, a woman raises from late position, and Matt Giannetti reraises from the button. The two limpers fold, and the woman four-bets it to 8,000. Giannetti calls.

The flop comes Kheart7diamond3heart, the woman bets 5,000, and Giannetti calls. The turn is the 2club, the woman checks, Giannetti bets 8,000, and she calls.

The river is the 9spade, she checks, Giannetti bets 11,000, and she check-raises all in for 34,700. Giannetti goes into the tank, saying something like, "This could be the weirdest hand I've ever played." After a couple of minutes, Giannetti calls.

The woman shows 6club6heart for a pair of sixes, and several people at the table do a double-take, clearly expecting a stronger hand. Giannetti turns over Kdiamond10heart for a pair of kings, winning the pot and eliminating the woman from the tournament.

After the hand, Allen Kessler and Dana Kellstrom both say they were certain the woman had pocket kings and had flopped a set. (Kessler also provided the betting action for this hand.)

Matt Giannetti  -  126,000  (157 bb)
