After a Break, The Tournament Circuit Is Back In Action
Level 29: 150,000-300,000, 40,000 ante
WPT Bicycle, Day 1a Recap By BJ Nemeth It's been more than a month since the WSOP and the WPT Bellagio Cup in Las Vegas, and there has been a lull in the schedule of major poker tournaments. But the break is over, and it's time for the players to get back in the game. The WPT Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino kicked off on Saturday with 161 players showing up for Day 1a, including defending champion Dan Harrington, who won more than $1.6 million here last year. There were 108 players who survived the five levels of play, and the chipleader is Adam Weinraub, the WPT Celebrity Invitational champion from Season IV. Notable players near the top of the leaderboard include Gavin Smith (84,000), John "The Razor" Phan (83,375), Erik Seidel (81,975), and WSOP "November Nine" finalist Scott Montgomery (80,400). Defending champion Harrington survived as well, but he will enter Day 2 (Monday) with a short stack of just 13,725. Sunday will see the start of Day 1b, and we are expecting a larger field than Saturday. It'll be interesting to see how close the field gets to matching last year's number: 485. Return to WorldPokerTour.com at 2:15 pm PT on Sunday afternoon for live coverage, chip counts, photos, and video interviews with Amanda Leatherman. Update: The official chip counts were released in the middle of the night, so this entry has been updated.

Ray Davis laughed and said, "You should have been at our table, Greg. You'd either have 100,000 or you'd be out. But you definitely wouldn't have 30,000." Davis shares a table with John Phan and a few other action players.
