Day 1b WPT Slovenia Completed
Level 7: 300-600, 50 ante
Day 1b of WPT Slovenia, presented by Goldbet, has come to an end with 58 of the 95 starters making it through to Day 2.
As expected we saw a larger field today and there were some well known faces amongst the 95 starters, including British pros John Eames and Toby Lewis, and a certain Antanas Guoga, or Tony G as he is more commonly referred to. Tony G is one of poker's most charismatic characters and he turned up fashionably late, almost three and a half hours late. We captured his entrance in this video:
When he sat down he still had more than 25,000 chips, which is testament to this great blind structure. But a quieter than usual Tony G found himself down to just 10,000 but doubled up towards the end of the day when his ace-queen cracked a pair of kings when he flopped a queen and turned another, leading him to joke about poker not being a game of skill.
Our overnight chip leader is Dominik Nitsche, the talented young German bagging up an impressive 120,250 chips at the end of the night. Play will resume tomorrow at 1300 CET where the 26 survivors from Day 1a will combine with the 58 players who made it through today, meaning 84 players will be riffling chips and playing it out for the title of WPT Slovenia champion.

Nobody Wants To Bust
Level 7: 300-600, 50 ante
With only 10 minutes of play remaining of Day 1b here at WPT Slovenia, presented by GoldBet, it seems the players are doing everything in their power to make it through to Day 2 tomorrow.
The clock has been called several times in the past 30 minutes as players stall. It's not pretty but it is a tactic many are employing.

Clark Climbs Back Up The Counts
Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante
Chuck Clark finds himself sat with 44,800 chips after Ognjen Sekularac folded to his intense pressure on the flop.
Joining the hand on the said flop, which read 7
8
2
, Clark lead out for 3,325 chips only to see Sekularac make it 8,000 to play. After counting how many chips were already in the middle, Clark moved all in, a bet that seemed to perplex Sekularac.
We will never know if Clark had the goods or not because his shove was enough to force Sekularac out of the pot. Nice hand.
