Day 4 of the WPT L.A. Poker Classic Begins at 12:30 pm PT

Level 30: 100,000-200,000, 30,000 ante

The field squeezed through the money bubble last night (though it took about 90 minutes), and there are 58 players who survived to Day 4, which begins today at 12:30 pm PT. We're not certain of the schedule yet, but they'll be playing down to either 27 or 18 players. Phil Ivey starts the day second in chips behind Kyle Burnside. Ivey has an interesting habit in World Poker Tour events -- he has never cashed without reaching the final table. He has cashed seven times, and reached seven final tables. But then comes the bad news -- he's won zero. Ivey would obviously rather break the second streak than the first. Another surprising name at the top of the leaderboard is Jennifer Tilly, the 2005 WPT Ladies Champion. In an L.A. tournament that overlaps the Academy Award ceremony (which took place Sunday night), Oscar-nominated actress Tilly is threatening to go deep. And she's not the first Oscar nominee to do well in this event, as James Wood finished 24th here two years ago. Here's the leaderboard heading into Day 4, with the average stack around 230,000: 1. Kyle Burnside - 781,000 2. Phil Ivey - 656,000 3. Jennifer Tilly - 569,000 4. David Singer - 561,000 5. Yury Parad - 560,000 We don't know much about Kyle Burnside yet, but he was tangling with Antonio Esfandiari quite a bit yesterday, taking a lot of the magician's chips before he was eliminated. Poker pro David Singer adds another big name to the top five, and Yury Parad's claim to fame in this tournament is starting Day 2 with just a handful of chips to claim the chip lead later that day. Action resumes today at 12:30 pm PT. Stay tuned to WorldPokerTour.com for live updates, chip counts, photos, and video interviews with Kimberly Lansing.
