Alex Outhred preview
Level 25: 80,000-160,000, 15,000 ante
Alex Outhred our chip leader with 1,743,000 in chips will be looking to capture the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship. Outhred could have easily been eliminated in Day 1 when his pocket Queens ran into trip Kings on the flop, but he hit a Queen on the river to double up. Then in Day 4, he had his pocket Aces cracked by Mike Landers' pocket 10's. Outhred started that hand with 900k and lost half of that. With half his chips gone, Outhred started playing ultra aggressive. He moved ALL-IN 3 out of the next 5 hands, even after someone had stuck in a raise in front of him. Going into the Final Table of 10, Outhred had 700k in chips. He managed to moved into the chip lead at the end of the day without showing any hands. Outhred preflop raised consistently to pick up the blinds and antes. One time when someone challenged his raise with a reraise, Outhred reraised ALL-IN and took down the pot uncontested. Outhred has worked as the WPT Bootcamp instructor and qualified for the tournament via satellite hours before the start of the tournament. Can he parlay a $1000 satellite into a $1,033,440 payday? Stay tuned an see.
