Brandon Cantu Guesses Wrong
Level 34: 500,000-1,000,000, 100,000 ante
With the board showing A
K
Q
10
on the turn, the big blind moves all in, and Cantu considers the call from the small blind. Cantu says he doesn't think his opponent has a jack, and he calls with K
9
for a pair of kings.
In one sense, Cantu was correct, because his opponent didn't have a jack. But he did have 10
10
for a set of tens. Cantu needed a jack on the river to chop the pot, but the last card was the 7
.
The big blind won the pot worth about 39,000, while Cantu dropped down to about 8,000.

Cantu To Be Tasered
Level 34: 500,000-1,000,000, 100,000 ante
Brandon Cantu, Rene Angelil and Jon Friedberg are all seated together just one table away from Phil Helmuth. Helmuth came over to discuss the details of a certain last longer bet that he was privy to and the repercussions for Brandon Cantu. Just a few weeks ago Helmuth, Cantu and Gowen were at a charity tournament in Phoenix. A rebuy event, Cantu went bust and was ready to walk away when Clonie Gowen offered to buy him back in with one caveat - if he didn't last longer than her, he would have to be tasered. Cantu lost and will be tasered by Clonie later this week. Brandon tried his best to be a good sport when Phil came over, even managing to muster up a dry smile, but it was pretty evident he is not looking forward to paying off his bet.
