Eli Elezra Can't Talk
Level 4: 150-300, 25 ante
With 23,000 in the pot and the board reading 7

, Andreas Hoivold bets 20,000 from early position and Eli Elezra is facing a decision in the big blind. He begins to engage Hoivold in conversation as he contemplates what to do.
"You know I can't call right?"
"I know," Hoivold responds with a slow nod. "There's no shame in folding, you know."
The talk continues briefly before the dealer tells the two players they need to be careful about discussing the hand, and they should not suggest to one another what they hold.
Elezra is surprised. "I'm not allowed to talk to him?" Doyle Brunson chimes in, explaining there is a penalty if you tell the truth about your hand.
"I'll get the penalty, but I think I can win the pot," says Elezra. He looks down at the sheet of paper keeping track of his prop bets with Brunson and tells the table," I have to fold, Doyle is winning at flops." Elezra mucks his 9
9
face up and Hoivold takes the pot.
The rest of the table is curious to hear more about the table talk rule though, so a floorman is dispatched to the table to clear up the policy. According to him, players are not supposed to discuss their hands with each other, even if it is heads-up, because it influences the action. The floorman admits there is a little leeway when it comes to table banter, but if it becomes excessive, the player will receive a ten-minute penalty.
As for the penalty for telling the truth about your hand, according to the floorman, it falls under the umbrella of talking about your hand and would be subject to a penalty as well.
Jennifer Tilly is particularly upset to hear about the rule. "A whole chapter of Joe Navarro's book out the window," she tells the table.
The floorman asks, "Who? The drummer from the Red Hot Chili Peppers?"

Bobby's Room Relocates to the Fontana Lounge
Level 4: 150-300, 25 ante
With registration still open midway through tomorrow, there are still late arrivals strolling into the tournament area and taking a seat. Brandon Cantu, Jennifer Harman, Zachary Clark, Sorel Mizzi, and Hafiz Khan are just a few of the late registrants, as are Doyle Brunson and Eli Elezra.
Both Elezra and Brunson were spotted in Bobby's Room playing cash this afternoon, but the game apparently broke and both players are seated at the same table in the center of the Fontana Lounge. Others at their table include Jennifer Tilly, Brock Parker, and one of the big stacks in the room, David Peters.
