Moder on the Move
Level 8: 200,000-400,000, 50,000 ante
Robyn Moder, WPT executive and secret poker pro, just doubled through Jennifer Tilly, then eliminated Chau Giang. She's on a roll, just sitting at the table and humbly eating some sort of trail mix. Between her chip stacks and those belonging to Steve Lipscomb, there could be a WPT exec in this tournament for the long run.

Paring Down the Field
Level 8: 200,000-400,000, 50,000 ante
- The field has been reduced by half, with just 18 tables remaining. It's a welcome change for those of us accustomed to six day-12 hour/day events. We still have a lot of celebs left in the running, while a few of the pros have done a remarkable job of picking off weaker stacks to build their own up. It's been fun to watch unfold. - When Isaac Haxton got knocked out, he told us he'd been eliminated by Jack Binion. Binion is the son of Benny Binion who's been working mostly in Macau over the last half-year, and he wasn't entered in our event. We found out later it was actually Jack McLelland, tournament director from Bellagio. - Speaking of tournament directors, amongst our other honored guests were Tab Duchateau from Borgata and Jason Marsh from Fallsview. Thanks for coming out, boys. - John Favreau was just eliminated. It was a frustrating event for Favreau, who was originally put at the table with Bill Edler and John Pham. Edler and Phan, both celebratory types, turned the game into a bit of a ruckus, with the rest of the players caught up in the chaos except for Favreau, who wanted to play some serious poker. Eventually, the frustration swallowed him whole. - Phil Laak and Greg Mueller have been everywhere all night. Phil was literally at three different tables I found my way to, and when I asked if he was playing at all of them, he informed me he'd entered six times (cue laugh track, Internet kids) but had been felted on every attempt. - "Is that Mickey Rooney?" - Tom Bostic, 24, asking about Dick Van Patten. - I think Sara Rue has a crush on me.
