Sixty Second Spotlight: Michael Banducci

Michael Banducci is now up to 65,000 chips after taking down the last pot with pocket Aces. Banducci may not be a familiar name to some, but is starting to make quite a name for himself. Since 2006 he has cashed 10 times at the WSOP and once at the WPT. Recently, he took down the $1,000 with rebuys bracelet event at the 2008 WSOP, good for $636,000. He is also known as "worldsgrtest" to the online poker community as a well respected online tournament professional.

Matros Whittles Down the Field

The first elimination of the day came at the hand of Matt Matros while holding big slick. In 2004 Matros finished in 3rd place at the WPT Championship event for just over $700,000. He also made a final table earlier this year in a $1,500 No-limit event at the WSOP.

There will be three starting days here at the WPT North American Poker Championship, and history tells us that the first day will likely be heavy with locals, and the third day will be heavy with traveling pros.
