Live Tournament Updates
Day 1 Begins
Level 8: 800,000-1,600,000, 300,000 ante
Everything we’ve seen on the WPT’s fifth season is the lead up. Now, we’re at the climax. The World Poker Tour World Championship is the highest-buy-in, open-invitation event in the world. $25,000 is a lot of money, even for these guys. It’s time to go to war. Everyone who’s anyone is here, looking for the biggest of WPT scores. Our player of the year leader JC Tran; the two guys who can pass him. Joe Pelton and Daniel Negreanu; the denizens of Bobby’s Room…Doyle…Barry…Ivey…Chip. Everyone’s here, and we’re going to see a few of them go to war before this thing is over. As if that’s not enough, we’ll be bringing you break-time blogs from three of our favorite pros: Paul Wasicka, Joe Pelton and Isaac Haxton. That should give you a look into their mindsets coming into the event, their perspectives on their table mates and explanations on why they made the plays they did. This is going to be a great week; the best in the world playing for the second biggest purse of the year with beautiful Bellagio as the backdrop. Be sure to stick around for all of the updates. It’s going to be a fun one. Gary Wise www.wisehandpoker.net
