Day 3 Preview
Level 8: 120,000-240,000, 30,000 ante
The WPT’s Bay 101 Shooting Star continues to deviate from the norm. After hour rounds and bounties-a-plenty on day 1, we returned to some normalcy with ninety-minute rounds and some real poker. Today though, we make an unusual conversion; we’re going to six-player tables. Who’s the beneficiary? None other than chip leader Jeff Madsen. Madsen won the short-hand event at this year's World Series and outnumbers the rest of the stacks at his table by 4:1. He's going to be shoving in a lot today. Joining Jeff at the top of the standings is Joe Sebok. Well known as the son of Greenstein, Joe is considered by many to be the most-improved player in poker over the last year and a half. He's one $10K victory away from stardom. We could be seeing that by the end of tomorrow. Nenad Medic and Joe Pelton are both looking to augment their 2006 victories with strong showings here. Joanne "JJ" Liu is our last woman standing. JJ, Madsen, David Williams and Erik Seidel are the remaining bounties. We'll be keeping an eye on all of them. Keep hitting your refresh buttons for all of the action. It's going to be a fun day.

Day 2 Recap
Level 8: 120,000-240,000, 30,000 ante
It was going so fast until we hit the bubble. When we finally got there, it went fast again. 140 players made their way to day two of the WPT’s Bay 101 Shooting Star, and now just thirty-six are left. The money came at forty-five, after a forty-five minute stall during hand-for-hand. After that, the remaining eliminees fell like a ton of bricks. Our leader is Jeff Madsen. “The Kid? stormed onto the scene this summer when he won two bracelets at the World Series. Now, he’s our monster chip leader with over T800,000 chips. Behind Madsen are breakthroughs-waiting-to-happen Joe Sebok and online pro Kyle Wilson. Madsen is one of just four remaining bounties in the event. Our last woman standing, Joanne "JJ" Liu is still in contention. David Williams, our Day 1A chip leader is still going strong. Seven-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel is still hanging around, though he’s the closest to being collected upon with just T80,000 left. Who else is left? Day 1 chip leader Clint Baskin still has north of T200,000. Ted Forrest, Joe Pelton and the always-scary Nenad Medic are still around. Heck, Medic has the fourth largest stack in the field while Pelton is north of T400,000. We’re not going to be lacking much in star power when this thing is all said and done. Thursday, those last thirty-six will gather at six-player tables and work their way down to Friday’s six-player final table. Be sure to check back in at noon PST as we bring you all of the action in a neat little package of blogs, chip counts, video, hand analysis and love. Yeah, I said it, love. Have a good night.

Kyle Wilson - The New Kid In Town
Level 8: 120,000-240,000, 30,000 ante
At the end of Day 2, two of the three chip leaders are quite well-known in poker – Jeff Madsen and Joe Sebok. The young man in third place, though – Kyle Wilson – is new to many on the tournament circuit. Kyle is a 23-year old poker player who is hungry for his first cash in a WPT tournament. Though he played in almost every WSOP event in 2006 and has tried his hand at WPT events before, this is his first time in the money and shot at a final table. He also explained that this tournament is particularly special to him because he lived in San Jose for two years when he attended San Jose State, where he played basketball. Currently, he is living back in Vancouver but is excited about doing well at Bay 101. An impressive performance here, which is already in the bag, means a great deal to Kyle. We’ll certainly be keeping our eyes on this young pro tomorrow.
