Official Chip Counts for Heads-Up Play

Level 22: 15,000-30,000, 3,000 ante

Here are the official chip counts for heads-up play:

Mike Mustafa - 2,059,000 (68 bb)
Carlos Mortensen - 2,261,000 (75 bb)

3rd Place: Frank Calo - $167,717
4th Place: Chris Bell - $124,966
5th Place: Ravi Raghavan - $105,234
6th Place: Jerry Payne - $88,791

There are about 11 minutes left in Level 22, with blinds at 15,000-30,000 and a 3,000 ante. Level 23 will be 20,000-40,000 with a 4,000 ante.

Reminder:  In heads-up play, the button has the small blind and acts first before the flop.

Now that he is guaranteed at least second place, Carlos Mortensen has passed Daniel Negreanu to become the all-time money leader on the World Poker Tour. If he wins, Mortensen will tie Gus Hansen for the record with three WPT titles.

Hand #67: Frank Calo Eliminated in 3rd Place ($167,717)

Level 22: 15,000-30,000, 3,000 ante

Carlos Mortensen raises from the small blind to 90,000, and Frank Calo calls from the big blind. The flop comes 5club4club2diamond, Mortensen bets 150,000, and Calo thinks for a few moments before he says, "I'm all in." Mortensen says, "I call."

Calo shows 5diamond4diamond for two pair (fives and fours), and Mortensen turns over 3club3spade for an open-ended straight draw. Calo needs his hand to hold to stay alive.

The turn card is the 8diamond, giving Calo a diamond flush draw and taking a few outs from Mortensen.

The river card is -- the 3heart!

Mortensen rivers a set of threes to win the pot and eliminate Frank Calo in third place. Calo had been the short stack many times in the past few days, but always found a way to double back into contention -- until now.

Seat 1. Mike Mustafa - 2,071,000
Seat 3. Carlos Mortensen - 2,249,000
Seat 6. Frank Calo - Out in 3rd Place ($167,717)

There will be a short break (15 minutes?) for the money presentation before heads-up play begins between Mustafa and Mortensen.

Level 22: 15,000-30,000, 3,000 ante

The river card is the Kheart, and they check again. Mustafa says, "One pair," and shows Adiamond2club for a pair of deuces. Mortensen folds, saying, "I should have raised you back preflop." Mustafa takes the pot.
