Tough Table

Level 3: 100-200, ante

A table in the far corner  of the tournament area is quickly producing one of the toughest line-ups in the room, thanks to tables breaking and late registrants filling empty seats.  Not only are they accomplished players, several have had success in this part of the country, including in this very event.  Check out this line-up:

Seat 1 - unknown player
Seat 2 - David "Bakes" Baker
Seat 3 - Mike Beasley
Seat 4 - unknown player
Seat 5 - Jonathan Jaffe
Seat 6 -Anthony Spinella (holdplz)
Seat 7 - Cornel Cimpan
Seat 8 - Vanessa Selbst
Seat 9 - unknown player

The table boasts two WSOP bracelet winners (Baker and Selbst), an NAPT champion (Selbst), a two-time WPT winner (Cimpan), the reigning champ in this event (Cimpan), and the runner-up in this event two years ago (Jaffe).

Jaffe is putting his aggressive style of poker to work early.  A player raises to 600 in early position and Jaffe reraises to 1,200 total.  The player calls and the two go heads-up to a flop of Qspade7club3heart.  Both players check and the turn brings the 4spade.  The initial raiser bets out 2,000 and Jaffe quickly raises to 5,200. His opponent tanks for a couple of minutes before making a request.

"Show me one?"  Jaffe gives the player a slight, silent nod and the player turns over the Qdiamond before folding.  Jaffe pushes his hole cards towards his opponent, who gets to choose which card he wants to see.

The player turns over the Tdiamond, resulting in some laughter fromthe rest of the table and a couple of comments along the lines of, "Looks like he picked the right one."

Jonathan Jaffe - 32,000
