It is typical Roberto Romanello that we have an elimination, he is not involved and all anyone is talking about is the Welshman. At the beginning of the hand Romanello challenges anyone to raise his big blind. What does the winner get? They get to prove to Romanello that they have a pair of balls!
Salvatore Castorina has balls, because he promised Romanello that should the action fold around to him that he would move ALL-IN blind! Then Frederico Cipollini spoiled the fun because he moved all-in for 12,100 and then Salvatore Bonavena called. Castorina was forced to fold as was Romanello and we had a showdown with Cipollini at risk.
Bonavena: T T
Cipollini: A Q
Board: J T 4 3 3
So Cipollini was eliminated but Romanello and Castorina were not finished. The day was over and the bags were being handed out when Romanello challenged Castorina to a game of heads up. They both put €20 into the middle and the dealer dealt them both a hand each, when they turned them over the whole tabled exploded with laughter.
Romanello: K 8
Castorina: K 8
So it looked like a split pot until then the board run out with three hearts and once again the table erupts! Romanello takes the €20 with the flush.
"Double or quits," says Romanello, "Dealer, if I win this the money is yours," says Romanello.
Romanello did win the rematch and gave the money to the dealer before reminding Castorina that there is only one captain at the table.
