Welcome To Day 2 Of WPT Grand Prix de Paris
Level 9: 400-800, 100 ante
Welcome back to the Aviation Club de Paris for Day 2 of the WPT Grand Prix de Paris. Today the 70 surviving players from Day 1a will return to their seats where they will meet the 97 players who made it safely through Day 1b to create a 167 strong field.
Day 2 could be a very long day indeed with the tournament director revealing his intention to play down to 54 players by the time we pack up and call it a night. The average sized stack is still just over 70 big blinds so we could be looking at very late finish, or a very early one depending on however you view these matters! One thing for sure we will be taking full advantage of the complementary coffee on offer.
The man everyone needs to catch is Mikko Sundell who was only one of two players to break through the 200,000 chip barrier across both starting days, the other being Canadian Yann Dion. Sundell and Dion will start the day with 203,800 and 201,400 respectively. Our chipleader from Day 1b, Guillaume Darcourt managed to turn his starting stack into 198,500 chips, which enough to put him in third place when play resumes at 1400 local time.
Also still in contention for World Poker Tour glory are the likes of McLean Karr, Joe Ebanks, Shawn Cunix, Marvin Rettenmaier, Jani Sointula, John Eames and Juha Helppi along with a whole host of established names and well known faces.
Join us from 1400 local time for live updates from the WPT Grand Prix de Paris Main Event.
