David Grana Eliminated in 15th Place ($28,351)
Level 28: 25,000-50,000, 4,000 ante
Over the course of two hands, Dwyte Pilgrim doubles through and subsequently eliminates David Grana. Here's the action:
After a series of raises, Dwyte Pilgrim and David Grana get it all-in preflop with Pilgrim holding AT to Grana's AQ. The T64 flop pairs Pilgrim to give him the lead in the hand. The turn and river come K then 2 and Pilgrim doubles up to roughly 2 million chips.
Shortly thereafter, Grana raises to 125,000 from the cutoff and Dwyte Pilgrim calls on the button. The flop comes J63 and Grana checks. Pilgrim bets 250,000 and Grana check-raises all-in for around 1.1 million total. Pilgrim stands up, utters an "Oh boy," then calls.
Grana shows AQ for ace high and Pilgrim shows AJ for top pair. The turn brings the 2 and the river the K and the rail erupts in cheers as Pilgrim takes the pot to eliminate Grana.
Pilgrim rushes to his friends for a round of high fives.
"Here we go baby," he cheers. "Sometimes you just got to," he adds. Pilgrim apologizes to the table for his enthusiasm. "I don't show too much emotion," he explains. Then he turns straight to the camera, looks in the lens and adds, "That was the biggest hand of my life."
The rail calms down after a minute and Pilgrim returns to the seat. He then looks across the table to Jeff Papola and gives him some words of encouragement:
"Papoli (sic), now it's your turn to double up."
Dwyte Pilgrim - 3,300,000 (66 big blinds)
David Grana - eliminated in 15th place ($28,351)
