Live Tournament Updates
Festa al Lago Begins at 12pm
Any time the World Poker Tour comes to Bellagio, the big name pros turn out. This year, it seems lie the excitement and anticipation is even greater than usual. Perhaps word is spreading about the changes and additions to Season IX. Perhaps the poker community wants to catch a glimpse at the WPT's new Raw Deal Correspondent, Tony Dunst. Or perhaps the players in Las Vegas are happy to have an event in their own backyard, as this is the first major Vegas tournament since Bellagio Cup in July.
This year's Festa al Lago series has been a smashing success so far with big turnouts and big names at the preliminary events. Factor in a drop in the buy-in from $15,000 last year to $10,000 this year and you can expect another big turnout in the Fontana Lounge.
You can also expect to see a couple of WPT's own taking to the tables. Mike Sexton is looking to follow up his 20th place finish at the Borgata Poker Open with another deep run here. Dunst will also be taking part in the event, so he will be getting a feel for the action before calling the action as a new part of the on-camera team.
Cards are in the air at 12pm. Registration will remain open through the first eight levels, which means players can sign up until approximately 5pm tomorrow.
