Chewy Gets Iced
Level 2: 100-200, ante
For those who may be unfamiliar with the concept of "Icing," it is a drinking game in which someone hides a bottle of Smirnoff Ice and whoever comes upon it must bend down on one knee and down the beverage.
Icing has quickly caught on in the poker world and players now come up with elaborate schemes to ice their friends. No place is off limits, not even a WPT tournament table. Just ask Maria Ho, who was Iced at Borgata thanks to the clever efforts of her friend Tiffany Michelle and WPT Live Updates reporter BJ Nemeth.
The Icing continues at Festa al Lago and the mastermind behind the plot is none other than Raw Deal correspondent Tony Dunst.
Once Dunst found out that his roommate Andrew Lichtenberger (luckychewy) would be filling the empty seat at his table, he decided it was peak time for Icing. He snuck away to Planet Hollywood Casino on his fifteen minute break and returned with a Smirnoff Ice that he stealthily slid under Lichtenberger's chair. Then he set the bait:
"Hey Chewy, someone came by with something for you before break. You weren't here, so they just left it under your chair."
Lichtenberger bent down to investigate and discovered the bottle. Lichtenberger took his Icing with a smile and the table rewarded him with a round of applause.
After the hand, the table couldn't help but give Lichtenberger a hard time for being so easily duped.
"If only I was Sherlock Holmes," Lichtenberger mused.
Dunst continued the ribbing. "The boom mike and cameras around the table didn't tip you off?"
"I just figured they were here to film you," Lichtenberger responded.
