Kathy Liebert Doubles Through Phil Ivey; Ivey Busts Moments Later
Level 12: 1,500-3,000, 400 ante
Kathy Liebert moves all in from the cutoff for 42,700, and Phil Ivey calls from the button with AJ. Liebert shows A9, and since they are nearly even in chips, someone will be crippled or eliminated (unless there's a chop).
The board comes KQ967, and Liebert pairs her nine on the flop to win the pot and double up to about 90,000. Ivey is crippled down to about 3,000 in chips -- one big blind.
Kathy Liebert - 90,000
Phil Ivey - 3,000
Two hands later, Ivey moves all in from late position for 2,300, the small blind limps for 3,000, and Matt Glantz checks his option in the big blind. The blinds check the board down all the way, and Glantz tells Ivey, "You may have won this."
But the small blind shows J2 for a pair of deuces on the river, and Ivey tosses his cards in the muck as he is eliminated from the tournament.
Matt Glantz - 430,000
Phil Ivey - Eliminated in 73rd Place
