Antonio Esfandiari Eliminated by Soheil Shamseddin
Level 2: 100-200, 25 ante
A player raises from early position to 900, and most of the table calls, including Soheil Shamseddin (middle position) and Antonio Esfandiari (cutoff).
The flop comes AQ4, and everyone checks to Esfandiari, who is last to act. Esfandiari bets 3,700, and it folds back to the initial preflop raiser, who raises to 20,000. Shamseddin calls, and Esfandiari calls all in for about 14,000. It is now a three-way pot, with Esfandiari all in.
The turn card is the K, the preflop raiser bets 30,000, Shamseddin moves all in for about 38,000, and his opponent calls with KK for a set of kings. Shamseddin shows 108 for a club flush, and Esfandiari mucks, presumably drawing dead.
The river card is the 9, and Soheil Shamseddin's flush holds up to win the pot and more than double his stack.
Soheil Shamseddin - 135,000
Antonio Esfandiari - Eliminated
Ted Lawson asks Shamseddin what he was thinking on the flop, and Shamseddin said he saw no reason to push with a draw there. Besides, a raise would have chased out the pocket kings, and Shamseddin says he got lucky with the king of clubs on the tournament, allowing him to win more chips.
Then Shamseddin shouts to the room, "I'm gamblin'!"
