JOE PELTON NEWEST WPT MILLIONAIRE
Level 25: 60,000-120,000, 15,000 ante
Wow. We had ourselves a fantastic final table here at the Legends of Poker Tournament. Poker greats Hoyt Corkins and Scotty Nguyen, no strangers to final tables, were among the players. But the real story was young star on the rise Joe Pelton, who hit the poker circuit with authority tonight. Congrats to Joe, the newest WPT millionaire and champion. Make sure you check out Joe’s immediate reaction to his victory. BARE “BONES? POKER Last night was the Paul Hannum Charity Tournament, hosted by Gavin Smith. A fantastic event and a splendid time was had by all. Gavin wound up going heads-up with Jennifer Tilly for the title (this was after a few re-buys by Gavin.) Jennifer snagged the win and immediately donated the cash value of the top prize, a $25K buy-in to the WPT World Championship, to the charity. Now that’s class. Behind the Scenes Producer/Director “Bones? Nissen also participated in the event. On the very first hand, Bones went all-in and had his kings cracked by a set of 8’s from Lou Diamond Phillips. This before most of us even had a chance to sit down. When I heard “Seat Open? called out, I thought it was a joke. Congrats to Bones for being the first out of the tournie. Watch Lou Diamond’s take on the hand. And it’s not too late to donate to the charity set up for Paul’s fiancée Sarah and unborn daughter. Please visit www.babyhannum.com.

Final Table Recap
Level 25: 60,000-120,000, 15,000 ante
Just like that, it’s all over. Joe Pelton just got it all in with A
7
against Frankie O'Dell's pocket sixes and hit the ace on the flop. He was the last guy at the table we thought would win.
Pelton was patient, waiting for Frankie to out think himself. In the key hand of the night, Frankie made a raise with a pair of fours on the Q-Q-4 board, then moved all-in when Joe re-raised. It was a huge mistake that would cost him the tournament.
Pelton was down to the felt as we closed down to final table play, but now he has a Legends of Poker championship ring and $1.77 million.
Kevin O’Donnell was our fourth place finisher, outlasting Randy Holland and Scotty Nguyen. For Scotty, the 6th place finish was especially brutal, following the hand of the tournament. He got all of his money in wih aces against jacks on the Q-8-2 flop before being beaten by O’Dell’s runner-runner straight.
In the end, though, there was Joe. Mike Sexton raised a Budweiser, Sabina Gadecki presented the plaque and the audience cheered the new champion.
Thanks to everyone for staying tuned to our coverage of the Legends of Poker. I had a great time meeting the WPT staff and seeing how everything worked behind the scenes. Thanks also to poker's best and brightest players, who came out, gave us a great show and gave their time to help make this a success. We couldn't do it without them.
Oh, and by the way; I got Pelton with the sixth pick in my draft with Tuan Vo. Winner? Wise.
