Phil Hellmuth Eliminated by Hafiz Khan
Level 10: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante
Phil Hellmuth was eliminated moments before the break, and Allen Kessler (who was seated at the same table) filled us in on the details.
In the span of three hands, Hellmuth was all in three times.
In the first hand, he moved all in over a bet from Michael Mizrachi, and Mizrachi folded. In the second hand, Hellmuth moved all in over a bet from Nicolas Fraioli, and Fraioli folded.
In the third hand, Hafiz Khan raised, and Hellmuth reraised, but not all in -- he made it 11,500. Khan called, and the flop came 5-4-3. Khan checked, Hellmuth bet about 18,000, and Khan moved all in.
Hellmuth quickly called with K-K, and he dominated Khan's Q-Q. Hellmuth was in excellent position to double up to an above-average chip stack.
But the turn card was a queen, giving Hafiz Khan a set of queens to win the pot and eliminate Hellmuth from the tournament.
Phil Hellmuth - Eliminated
Before he left, Hellmuth told the table that on the two previous hands, he had moved all in with pocket queens and ace-king.
