Could anyone ask for a better birthday gift than a WPT title and an $870,124 payday? Ask WPT Champion Antonio Esfandiari because that’s exactly what happened to him last year at the 2010 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic (pictured above). On his birthday, he sat down at the televised final table of that WPT event and captured the title, the money and all of the WPT awards that go along with winning.

This year, Esfandiari is once again making a charge at the final table (at time of post, he is the chip leader) and looking to celebrate his birthday in much the same way as he did last year. However, because it is a year later, his actual birthday won’t fall on final table day again, but that doesn’t mean the defending champion’s birthday will go unnoticed. To celebrate Antonio’s special day, the WPT Royal Flush Girls paid Antonio a visit at his table and delivered him a birthday cake.
