Following the hugely successful WPT Venice, World Poker Tour has announced a new Season X stop in Europe. The WPT Venice Grand Prix is scheduled to take place February 6–11, 2012, at the historic Casino Di Venezia and will feature a €4,950 buy-in WPT Main Event. The US-televised WPT Final Table will see the debut of WPT Anchor Marianela Pereyra, who is filling in for Kimberly Lansing while she is on maternity leave. Along with Marianela, the rest of the WPT team will be in attendance including Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten, and the Royal Flush Girls, who will be hanging out with players all week long at the Royal Flush Girls Social Bar.

The WPT Final Table will also be broadcast live on the WPT Live Streaming page with commentary provided by Jesse May and a special guest poker pro. WPT Live Streaming coverage for the final table will begin on February 11.

Last year’s record-setting tournament drew 523 entrants, which at the time was the biggest field for a European WPT Main Event and also featured the longest heads-up match in WPT history. Eventual champion Allesio Isaia became the first Italian to have their name engraved on the WPT Champions Cup, pocketing $517,704 and going on to finish fourth in the Season IX Player of the Year standings.

With Carnival season in full swing in Venice during the tournament week and the tournament itself hosted in the oldest casino in the world, the WPT Venice Grand Prix will be a unique experience for poker players looking to be the next WPT Champion to get their name on the WPT Champions Cup.
