Allen Carter may look like some amateur from Texas, but the Lewisville, Texas father and businessman is far from inexperienced at the tables. He may not look like an “online kid,” but Carter sharpened his Hold’em skills playing online under the screenname “AawwNutz.” Carter revels in using his “aw shucks” image at the table to get away with bold bluffs and aggressive moves.

The WPT got to see just how aggressive Carter could be at Season VII’s Southern Poker Championship at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS when Carter snagged a cool million and a WPT title by defeating a field of 283 runners. Carter almost made WPT history two years later when he final tabled the Southern Poker Championship a second time during Season IX. Carter came close to becoming the first player to win the same WPT event twice, but he fell short of victory, coming in third place.

Between the two final table appearances, Carter racked up more than $1.2 million and became a WPT-made millionaire. Though Carter has more than $1.5 million in career tournament earnings, he still considers himself a recreational player and spends time away from the tables running his businesses and coaching youth athletics in the Dallas area.
