Anders Henriksson was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden and had a penchant for poker from his youth. During school years when his friends would play in golf tournaments and other sporting activities, he spent his evenings and weekends playing poker despite his love of golf. With the cold winters in his country, he admitted that finding something entertaining to do indoors was preferable to anything else. And with those years of practice, he became quite good at poker.

At the dawn of the new millennium, when poker's popularity began to skyrocket around the world, Anders began playing more frequently in casinos for money and found that he was fairly successful in his endeavors. A few years later, he tried his hand at poker tournaments and discovered a knack for that as well.

By 2004, Anders was proving his abilities and intense focus upon the game by cashing in tournaments. He placed third in the main event of the Helsinki Freezeout, then took his game to an international level. He visited the World Poker Tour when it hosted the 2005 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and finished in 18th place. Nothing motivated him more than preparing for the following year and showing up at the 2006 WPT event at the same location. That time, he made the televised final table and placed fifth for his biggest cash to date - nearly $240,000. And 2006 was his best year by far when he cashed twice at the World Series of Poker and won his first bracelet in the $1,500 no-limit hold'em event.
