At an early age, it was clear Andy Glazer had a gift. He could watch something happen and describe it in such fine detail, the reader felt like he'd been right there beside Glazer watching. The gift manifested itself early. He was the sports editor of his high school newspaper. At the University of Michigan, he was both the newspaper's sports editor and a radio sports commentator. Once accepted to the Emory School of Law, he took on the role of the school newspaper's editor until he graduated.

While gifted enough to be an attorney, Glazer didn't have the stomach for it. He once told friends he had to give up law after representing a client he knew was guilty and getting an acquittal. It was that early retirement that led Glazer into his final career. While continuing to work on his writing, Glazer supported himself by playing poker. Before long, his two passions merged and Glazer found himself serving as the tournament reporter for the World Series of Poker. Success there led him to columns in both CardPlayer magazine and the Detroit Free Press newspapers. It also afforded him the ability to play in more and more poker tournaments.

A friendship with Phil Hellmuth kicked off Glazer's game. Over the course of his short career, Glazer had more than a dozen finishes in the money, including a sixth place finish in the 2003 World Poker Tour invitational. Known widely as The Poker Pundit, Glazer was among the most loved writers and poker players on the tournament circuit. It was a love that was cut all-too short on July 4, 2004 when Glazer passed away in Los Angeles, California. To this day, people still refer to his poker tournament coverage as the best there has ever been.
