As an online poker pro, Bobby Oboodi has plenty of experience defeating large fields in the virtual world, so his victory in the largest field event in WPT history shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. The Jersey boy defeated a field of 1,313 entries at the Atlantic City poker mecca, the Borgata. Not only did Oboodi defeat the field, he went wire to wire at the final table, never relinquishing the chip lead. The victory launched Oboodi from recognizable online name to a notable face in any field, not to mention added $922,441 to his poker bankroll and push his lifetime live tournament earnings past the $1 million mark.

The 24 year-old had some notable live cashes before winning the Season X Borgata Poker Open, including a final table appearance at an EPT Barcelona side event in August of 2011, but his big paydays came mostly online, where he played under the screenname “BigRedAK”. Oboodi earned over $1.2 million in online tournament scores. Look for Oboodi’s live winnings to surpass his online ones soon though. After his WPT win, he has been hitting the live circuit more and is one of the young players to watch on the WPT circuit.
