Bau Le came to the United States from Vietnam in the 1970's as a child and grew up on the East Coast. He was always an ambitious person, obtaining a Masters degree in electrical engineering from Penn State as well as pursuing his love of martial arts by obtaining advanced belts in Tae Kwon Do and Karate. Such accomplishments require a tremendous amount of focus and study, both of which come naturally to him.

During his career as an electrical engineer, Bau began spending some of his free time in the casinos in Atlantic City, taking a casual interest in poker and turning it into an alternate form of income and quite the enjoyable pastime. Besides gaining a reputation in cash games for being a fierce competitor, thus the nickname "The Tiger," he took a liking to tournaments and decided to dedicate some effort to them.

In 2002, Bau burst onto the tournament circuit with a $24,245 win in the Holiday Bonus event in a Los Angeles card room. Jetting between the two coasts, he made an impression on players nationwide as he cashed in tournaments everywhere. In 2004, he won the $500 no-limit event at the United States Poker Championships in Atlantic City. By the time he traveled to Tunica in 2006 for the Gold Strike World Poker Open series, most knew who he was. He captured a win at the $1,500 no-limit event there, then played in the WPT's $10,000 main event where he ended up at the final table. His sixth place finish solidified his place in the poker world, and players everywhere now know to watch out for the tiger.
