It's hard to come from a place much farther north than Brad Booth. After a childhood in Vancouver, Brad moved to Yukon Territory in the northern reaches of Canada. It was a desolate and cold place that encouraged a lot of indoor activity. While his modern day poker play can be an example to up-and-comers, his early education in the game is not a parent's dream. Brad found a love for poker early in his life and dropped out of school in his teens to pursue his love of the game. The early days did not go well. He would spend his days working at a pizza joint and his losing his paycheck. Eventually, he turned his game around. He found himself playing in dark backroom games and doing well.

It would not take long before Brad had taken himself out of the old poker shanties of the great white North and moved into a life of luxury. His cash game prowess earned him the ability to check into five-star hotels for months at a time. He once spent nearly a year living in the Bellagio and playing poker 16 hours a day. He has done so well, some people have taken to calling him "the best unknown player in the world."

While he's had much of his success in the high-dollar cash games, Brad has had more than modest success on the poker tournament circuit. In his first two years of serious tournament poker, Brad earned more than half a million dollars. While he may have been an unknown in his early years, he is quickly on his way to being a poker legend.
