Bill Edler has two very important reputations. One is that he’s one of the nicest guys in poker and the other is that he’s one of the most underrated pros in the game. But he’s also the self-appointed “Happiest Married Man in Poker.” He and his wife recently purchased a home in her native country of Columbia. Raised in Evanston, Illinois, Bill attended law school at the University of California in Berkeley. While working for Pacific Bell his friends took him to dinner for his birthday and introduced him to poker authority, Lee Jones. After dinner they went and played poker and Bill enjoyed it so much he skipped the Bar exam and became a pro.

Eventually he was hired by the Casino San Pablo as a prop player and got an unusual promotion to poker room manager. He hired Erik Lindgren as a prop player and they’ve since developed a fast friendship. Bill’s time spent in the casinos has served him well. In 2005 he cashed twice in WSOP events and in Season 4 of the World Poker Tour, he took 34th place for $17,245 in the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship and 11th in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic for $14,420.

His tournament success continued through 2006, again cashing in two WSOP events and several of the World Poker Tour’s Season 4 and Season 5 events including the Borgata Winter Open, L.A. Poker Classic, Foxwood’s Poker Classic, Mirage Poker Showdown and the Borgata Open. In 2007, Bill kept the pressure up - keep an eye out for him in Season 6 of the World Poker Tour! It seems that Bill’s career is on a meteoric rise, but it’s his home life that he seems most satisfied with.
