Camryn Manheim grew up in Peoria, Illinois as the daughter of a school teacher and a math professor. With a penchant for the arts from her childhood, a special fondness for acting that happened when she worked at a Renaissance Faire at the age of 16, she went on to the University of Santa Cruz for her bachelor's in Fine Arts, then to New York University to graduate with a master's degree in Fine Arts. She soon began working as an actress and has numerous television and film roles to her credit, not to mention an Emmy Award for her role on the TV drama, "The Practice."

While Camryn's poker resume isn't nearly as impressive as her acting resume, she has certainly taken to poker with her competitive spirit and zest for excitement. She has played occasionally in one of the most popular and long-running home games in Hollywood, and when she was asked to play in a celebrity poker tournament on behalf of one of the many charities she supports, she jumped at the opportunity.

Camryn played on numerous celebrity television tournaments, but her first was the World Poker Tour's Hollywood Home Game. Though she was the first player eliminated on the show, she has continued to play in the WPT's annual Celebrity Invitational at the Commerce Casino, and she plays in home games with friends whenever work permits. She has even studied the game through books and watching the World Poker Tour in order to better her game, which is only indicative of the type of dedication and determination that she brings to every endeavor she pursues.
