Chris McCormack began playing poker when he was 16-years old in casual scenarios with friends. When schooling was complete, he moved to Miami, Florida and took a job in sports management as an account executive for the Miami Heat basketball team. But his spare time was consumed by poker, as he spent time in casinos and befriended poker pros like Michael and Robert Mizrachi. He absorbed all of the information that they provided, and he soon began playing on a professional level. Through winning cash games and various local tournaments, he built a bankroll that he used to step up to bigger tournaments.

In 2004, Chris took a shot at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods in Connecticut and made it through a sizable field to the final table, though he finished seventh and didn't see the spotlight of the televised final action. But his $235,226 payday enabled him to continue playing and move to Las Vegas. He has cashed in numerous tournaments and won several of them, but his biggest poker accomplishment came at the 2006 Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City, where he did make the final TV table
