Born in Horsholm, Denmark, Christian has enjoyed life through a variety of hobbies, most notably stamp collecting. After discovering that one of his stamps was able to sell for $30,000, he saw the lucrative possibilities in becoming a stamp dealer. He started his own business and made it into a successful venture, which is where he earned the nickname that continues to be used when he plays poker " "The Stamp."

Christian began playing poker with friends in 2001 and won only small amounts of money, enough to keep the games entertaining. Several years later, he played some online poker in his spare time but started doing quite well. In 2003, he played an online tournament for $123 and won it for $396,000. This enabled him to become a professional player with a sizable bankroll, traveling to various tournaments in Europe and beyond.

Playing live tournaments was something that seemed to come naturally to Christian, and when he traveled to Baden to play in an EPT event, he placed fourth for over $50,000. In January of 2006, he went to the Bahamas to participate in the WPT's PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure and finished eighth, just short of the televised final table. Less than six months later, he found himself playing in the WPT's Grand Prix de Paris, playing against tough competition.
