Curt Kohlberg is the type of man who defines success. Rarely able to sit still, he started playing five-card draw and seven-card stud while studying at the University of Massachusetts. Not busy enough playing poker and studying management, he playing competitive racquetball and started his own business selling concert t-shirts. Before long, he headed off to MIT and eventually made his way to Wall Street.

In the late 1990s, with his professional life well in hand, Kohlberg started dabbling in poker again. He once again found a competitive joy in it. What's more, though it forced him to make nearly as many decisions as he made in his business life. For people like Kohlberg, decision-making is relaxing. For a man who never plays online and never plays cash games, Kohlbeg is still very serious about the game. He writes down every key hand he plays and lets a coach look over his notes.

Before he made a World Poker Tour final table, Kohlberg was still a somewhat busy man in the poker world. He won two events at the World Poker Finals, and made final tables at the World Series of Poker and New England Poker Finals. In Season 4 of the World Poker Tour, Kohlberg made the final table of the Grand Prix de Paris and finished in fifth place, earning more than $115,000. Kohlberg continues to play poker recreationally and has won more than half a million dollars with his hobby.
