Competition has always been an important part of David Levi's life. He was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. He grew up to become a paratrooper in the Israeli Defense Forces and played professional soccer for Hapoel Ramat Gan for over seven years. A knee injury ended Levi's soccer career, and he decided to move to Los Angeles.

Life after being a professional athlete left Levi craving competition. He started playing poker when a friend took him to the Bicycle Club in Los Angeles. He soon progressed from playing monthly to playing daily. He likes to play Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, but has made most of his money playing Texas Hold’em. In his last thirteen years of playing poker professionally, he’s used his mad math skills and tight aggressive game to cash regularly as a tournament player.

David Levi has cashed in over 150 tournaments and won more than two million dollars in his professional poker career. He’s has been playing in World Poker Tour events since Season 1 when he placed ninth in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio. In 2005, Levi cashed in four World Series of Poker events, and two years later, Levi cashed in two WPT events, the Mandalay Bay Poker Championships and the Five Star World Poker Classic. He’s said that winning a World Poker Tour title would close the circle of his wishes.
