David Ulliott had a traditional childhood in England - traditional for poker players, that is - as he learned card games at the kitchen table with his parents and other family members. He began to challenge other kids in school to card games during lunch and recess, thus taking their lunch money and allowances. By the age of 16, he was playing in a local casino, and before he was 21, he started his love affair with one specific game - poker.

David was a young man who enjoyed challenges but didn't have the discipline for schooling. He quit high school to work but played poker and engaged in some sports betting as well. Ultimately, he chose the wrong path with the wrong people and more than one prison term for theft and armed robbery. But with lessons learned in his early adult years, he finally settled down, married, and began having children. He also joined with his wife to open a jewelry business, though his passion for poker kept bringing him to the tables to earn extra money.

Tournaments caught David's attention in the early 1990's, and a steady flow of winnings from those events spurred him to devote more time to poker. Much of his early success was in London but his trips to the U.S. were garnering attention from the top pros, especially when he went deep in three tournaments at the 1997 World Series of Poker, taking first place in one of them - the $2000 pot-limit hold'em. Though he has appeared at numerous final tables, a repeat win has eluded him. However, the dapper and always interesting player has found a comfortable home on the World Poker Tour. In the WPT's first season, he won the World Poker Open and has since cashed in numerous events on the tour. While maintaining a home with his wife and seven children in England, David can be found frequently on U.S. soil dominating the poker tables and sporting his gold rings - one on each hand - that spell out his name in two words, Devil and Fish.
