Devin Porter is another in the list of young poker phenoms to make their mark on the WPT. Born in San Diego, California, this 22 year old was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Not exactly poker mecca, but it hasn't stood in his way. Neither did college, where he spent just two semesters learning that he really should be playing poker tournaments.

Having started playing poker in home games with his family, and then with his friends as a youngster, Porter came of age at the perfect time, when players were starting to make serious money on the tour. He decided to see what he could do, and his results speak for themselves.

He made the final table in the only two WPT events he has played, which may be a record. Porter made the final at Aruba in Season 4, finishing 4th, taking home $200,000. He then made the final table at the Season 5 Mirage World Poker Open, winning a $250,000 satellite event to get in. Then along the way, he knocked out poker legend Phil Ivey. With over $600,000 in career earnings, the future certainly looks bright for this young poker star.
