Don Zewin was born in Niagara Falls, New York. He left New York in 1979 to pursue poker in Las Vegas. The father of three has been playing the game ever since. In fact, he has been successful enough to make it his career.

After he moved to Las Vegas, Zewin played cash games for hours at a time. Eventually, he turned 18-20 hour sessions into eight-hour sessions. He has been a solid enough player for 25 years that he plays when he feels like it, instead of feeling the constant pressure of the daily grind. Zewin is well-known in the poker community, but not as well known to poker fans. He hasn't played very many no-limit tournaments.

In 1989, Zewin finished third at the World Series of Poker Main Event behind Johnny Chan and Phil Hellmuth. Since then, he has stuck primarily to cash games. However, in Season 4 of the World Poker Tour, Zewin made the final table of the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship and cashed in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic. In Season 6 of the WPT, Zewin went deep in the Legends of Poker tournament at the Bicycle Casino. Zewin has earned more than $900,000 in major tournament winnings.
