James Overman lives a heavy metal life. A foreman in a sheet metal shop, Overman lords over a crew of 50 people who spend their day manufacturing commercial duct work. It may not be the kind of life you image when you think about a poke player who has played on one of the game's biggest stages, but that's the way Overman is. When he's working, he's a worker. When he's playing, he plays just as hard as he works.

While his job got him up and at work by 6am every day, Overman still found time to play poker. When he could find the time, he would leave D.C. and head up to Atlantic City to play cards. When he didn't have enough hours to do that, he sat down in front of a computer to play online. It was there that Overman found a way to temporarily leave the heavy metal days and head for a great night in the City of Lights.

Overman won a $100 satellite to the WPT Grand Prix de Paris in Season 3 of the World Poker Tour. It was $100 well-invested. Overman was the only American to make the final table that year. He placed third and won nearly $250,000.
