James Woods is known to a generation of filmgoers for his Oscar-nominated role as a conniving journalist undergoing a crisis of conscience in Oliver Stone's Salvador, as well as to TV audiences for his searing portrayal of Roy Cohn in HBO's Citizen Cohn. The son of a U.S. Army Intelligence officer, Woods grew up in Warwick, R.I. where he was a standout student. A Poli-Sci major at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he dropped out to pursue an acting career shortly before graduation. Since then he's appeared in nearly a hundred film and television roles. He's an avid Hold-Em player, and is a tight but aggressive competitor.
